Saw the following 'anonymous' comment on one of the 'problem blogs' today.
Thought some of the useful information will help everyone.

I made some updates to anony's comments. Removed certain individuals names and a groups name to make it GENERIC.

My area of interest is cyber crimes and how to prevent it. I have been doing academic research on this subject for few years. Being a Tamil, I also read Tamil on Internet and reading Tamil blogs for few years. I often read postings accusing of abuse/harassment/stalking/identity theft in Tamil Blogs. Though I see everyone complains big time about it, I have not seen anyone taking any concrete actions to prevent it. People should report the abuses to the police and not to the magazines that will make sales out of it.

Cyber Crime Laws are taking shape even in under developed countries for sometime now. A victim needs some time and perseverance to follow through the complaints to get justice. For example, Malaysia has passed cyber crime laws way back in 1999 or so. You could request Malaysian police to track down any cyber crime culprits through the police department of your country. I am sharing some of the trivial information that could be useful to the victims of cyber crimes on Tamil Internet. The following website has excellent material and guidance to the victims of cyber abuses in Tamil Blogs. Please feel free to contact them.

I have also explained in my research papers few times about the nature of abuses that go on in Tamil Web. However, as I am not affected, I could not give any official complaints. I have tracked poli dondu, karuppupaiyan et all for my research work for sometime and have solid information about them. However, authorities cannot take action without complaints from few current USA residents. So, please use the following links to save yourself. If you need any proof on who is Poli Dondu, after giving a written complaint to your local police authorities, give their e-mail and address in this blog. I will send it to the police department directly.

Abuses of Poli Dondu, Tamil Bartender, Special Aappu, Doondu can be reported under CyberStalking (Online Stalking) or Harassment. This can also be additionally reported under Cyber Bullying.

Please mention that you were abused in Tamil Blogs by so and so blogger. Also if you suspect that blog aggregators collect abuses against you in the name of free speech, you could mention their names too here. Not only the blogger, even those who allow comments of abuse and those who collect or reproduce them can come under the purview of justice.

Karuppupaiyan writes hatred against a section of people (called Brahmins). Most of his writings will fall under the purview of Hate Crimes. Many people including scholars from USA comment on his blog appreciating him. You could ask law enforcement to take action on Karuppupaiyan. For example, even if Karuppupaiyan lives outside USA, you could still complain about him in USA. USA authorities will try to track him down. Also they will put a tab on his supporters in USA and watch them.

Similarly, Sundaravadivel's Savilum pizhaikum parpana kutam post would qualify under racial profiling of brahmins. Any profiling is a crime in USA.

It has been clearly established that Karuppupaiyan is poli dondu and complaints were lodged against him in India, Malaysia and USA already. May be law is giving him a long rope now to catch not only him but also his co-conspirators. USA is not India where they dont care much about cyber crimes. USA takes cyber crimes seriously. So, the chances are more that the guilty will be punished if you report to USA agencies.

Is there no way that woman can surf safely online? Surely they can.. Wiredsafety says,

So, all women affected by Poli Dondu/others irrespective of the country they live in, please contact wiredsafety. Crimes against women and children are taken seriously.

When you go to wiredsafety, sometimes they will ask you to go to online FBI website or local police department and give a complaint. FBI or police department gets thousands of complaints everyday like this. At the most, they will give you an interview and hear your case. They may not act beyond it. However, if you go to wiredsafety and inform your complaint details, wiredsafety follows up with the police. When wiredsafety follows up, FBI/Police act normallly and do something.

For example, if you suspect someone as supporting or doing abuses, you could even mention in your complaint that you are suspecting that person. Police will not punish you even if its wrong. Even if you dont mention it, they ask you normally whether you have any list of suspects.

Even if you prove to the world the abuses yourself, no one will be caring much. The guilty will get smarter and move on to a different place or under a different name and continue to harass others. So blogs like this post will serve no purpose.

Few months back, a Canadian movie director was refused entry into USA. What did he do. Directed a movie where the USA President was killed. In Tamil blogs, there is open support for terrorism, violence, punishments by terror groups and justifications for the killings of many foreign leaders/diplomats. Those who do write such posts bring a world of harm to themselves without even knowing about it. A person can also report it to wiredsafety as suspicious activity or support for terror. After 9/11, police encourage people to contact them to report suspicious activities.

I strongly advise you all not to take law in your own hands to expose the guilty. Go to the law enforcement authorities. It may take some time and efforts on your side, but when abusers are put behind the bars, there will be none to write in support of them.
